Eglinton is a neighborhood of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, which is located about 44 kilometers (27 miles) north of the city's commercial center on the Indian Ocean. Native banksia woods, scrubland, and heath typical of the Swan Coastal Plain cover the majority of the suburb. However, there has been an increase of residential estates recently, and a town center will soon be constructed. Additionally, there are plans to extend the Joondalup railway line through the neighborhood (ending in Yanchep), with the Eglinton train station being built inside the Allara estate.
