For almost a year, we've been working towards one of the biggest steps in Geonet's evolution. Now, with the final stages underway, we're getting ready to introduce a new way for Australian investors to access Bali's hospitality real estate market: the Geonet Retail Investment Fund.
Australian investors are rethinking what a diversified portfolio looks like. Residential property has long been the default, but rising prices, tighter yields, and a greater focus on income are pushing investors to look further afield, and to ask more of their assets than capital growth alone.
At the same time, hospitality real estate in destinations like Bali has traditionally been the domain of ultra-high-net-worth families and institutional investors. Individual investors haven't had a clear, structured way in.
That's the gap the Fund is designed to close.
A regulated way to access an asset class that's usually out of reach
Rather than attempting to navigate an offshore market independently, the Geonet Retail Investment Fund gives investors a regulated Australian framework to stand behind their decision. The Fund operates under a Responsible Entity, with the governance, compliance, and oversight structure Australian investors expect from a retail managed investment scheme.
As our team explains in the podcast episode below, this doesn't change the underlying asset. What it changes is the framework investors can use to assess and access it, bringing familiar structure to an opportunity that would otherwise feel unfamiliar.
The Fund has been built for Australian investors who:
Unlike many funds where investors have little visibility into the people or assets behind their investment, Geonet's twelve years on the ground mean this Fund is backed by an established team, recognised hospitality and lifestyle brand partners, and a real, visitable project: ELLE Resort & Beach Club Bali.
To coincide with this announcement, we've also released a special podcast exploring the Geonet Retail Investment Fund.
Hosted by Tarek Bhatti, General Manager of Geonet Australia, the discussion features Caleb Gibbins from Cache Investment Management Australia, Dalton Grant Jnr., CEO of the Geonet Retail Investment Fund, and Chris Hodda, Geonet's Head of Assets. Together, they explain why the Fund has been established, how it is structured, and what investors can expect as we move towards launch.

Whether you're already familiar with managed funds or simply curious about how hospitality investment works, this conversation provides an excellent introduction to what we're building.
