After a fantastic run of events in Australia and Singapore, we're taking our next big step into Asia this December, with a stand at Shanghai's Luxury Property Show and an evening in Seoul with ELLE Korea and SONO Hotels & Resorts.
This is a big moment for us. We now have a presence in Singapore, where we're working with local sales partners, and this December we're taking ELLE Resort & Beach Club to two more of Asia's most exciting luxury markets. We can't wait to meet everyone.
"Over the past year, we've seen how valuable it is to meet people face to face, show them what we're building in Bali and answer their questions in person," said Chad Egan, our CEO. "Our events in Australia have had a fantastic response, and we're excited to bring that same approach to Shanghai and Seoul."
Our first stop is LPS Shanghai, the Luxury Property Show, at the Shanghai Exhibition Center from 4 to 6 December. Now in its 25th edition, it's Shanghai's largest international property show, bringing more than 180 exhibitors from around the world together with buyers, investors and private clients from across China. For anyone in China who loves luxury property overseas, this is the show of the year, and we wanted to be right in the middle of it.
ELLE China has already featured the project this year in ELLE, ELLE Men and ELLE Decoration China, and we're looking forward to bringing it to life in person. If you're at the show, come and say hello.
On 16 December we're hosting an evening at SONO Felice Convention in Gangnam, in partnership with ELLE Korea and SONO Hotels & Resorts. It's an intimate night for around 100 guests: a chance to step into the world of ELLE in Bali, meet our team and the SONO team, and see what we're creating in Seminyak and Canggu.
"We're in Asia for the long haul," said Egan. "After Australia and Singapore, Shanghai and Seoul are the next step. We're expanding our sales channel network into Singapore, China and South Korea, working with partners who understand their local markets, so we can keep hosting events, meeting new people and growing our presence over time."
ELLE and China go back a long way. ELLE was the first international fashion magazine to launch in China, back in 1988, and it even has its own women-only credit card with China Merchants Bank, whose cardholders become ELLE VIP members with access to ELLE events. Chinese shoppers still buy around a quarter of all the world's luxury, and China is one of Bali's biggest visitor markets, with around 537,000 Chinese visitors flying straight to Bali last year, up almost 20%.
In South Korea, the biggest reason is our operator. SONO Hotels & Resorts, which will run ELLE Resort & Beach Club, is Korea's largest resort operator, with 17 hotels and resorts across the country. For Korean guests, that means a name they already know and trust will be looking after them in Bali.

Korea loves ELLE and loves luxury too. ELLE has been on Korean newsstands since 1992, and ELLE Korea has 4.5 million followers on Instagram. Koreans spend more on luxury per person than anyone else in the world, and while luxury slowed in much of the world last year, Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Chanel all had record years in Korea. Bali is a favourite as well, with around 347,000 Korean visitors last year, up almost 18%.
"What makes these markets particularly exciting for us is that we're introducing a hospitality development connected to a brand people already know and love," said Chad. "ELLE has an incredible history in both countries, and we're looking forward to showing people how we're bringing that lifestyle to Bali."
We're looking forward to meeting new audiences in China and South Korea this December, with more events and chances to connect to come.
